Ruth Balloon has advanced significantly in her profession after she went viral for repaying $37 million that her bank had inadvertently sent to her account.

Ruth, a resident of Dallas, Texas, gained notoriety in 2019 after she checked her bank account after finishing her shift at Roma Boots and found a startling amount. She initially believed that someone had handed her the money, but she soon realised that a bank had made a mistake.

The mother of two then gave her bank, LegacyTexas Bank, the entire sum back. Ruth shared her feelings about being a billionaire for just one and a half days in an interview with KTVT after getting a stunning $37 million. We have a lot of money, I was like, wow,” she said to the television station. I hoped that $37 million was a gift to us.

After the story spread across the nation, LegacyTexas Bank released a statement outlining the mistake that resulted in the transfer. It said, “Due to the fluctuation in exchange rates, all foreign currency transactions must be manually entered into our system through our back office. On Tuesday, December 10 (2019), our client made a foreign currency deposit into her LegacyTexas account.”

“When our client’s deposit was being keyed in, our representative entered her account number into the amount field accidentally,” the statement continued.

Since she returned the money more than two years ago, it appears that Ruth Balloon is coping just fine without it. She has dabbled with planning kids’ parties, which involve a big foam bubble bus, the Daily Star reported. Together with her friend Eva Brandys, Ruth established the company they named Bubble Stop. At several parties, the pair sprays children with a tidal wave of bubbles and froth using a vehicle that resembles a school bus.
